File Attributes Windows XP

Win XP - Details view can be set to display file attributes, such as whether or not a file is read-only, 'hidden,' a system file, or a file with the attribute bit set. To enable this feature
- open a folder
- choose "View"
- choose "Details"

Open the folder in My Computer.

Click the Views icon, set to Details

Now you see the details, but we want to see the attributes column.

Click the View menu | Choose Details.

Put a check next to Attributes.

Look at the Attributes column. All the files should have an A beside them, not R which means Read Only.

If any file has an R next to it, right-click it and choose Properties. Then uncheck Read-only. OK saves it.
