Image Display Failure in Web Mail

Email and Webmail Programs which Work for our Tutorials

The screen grabs in our tutorials display properly in locally installed email clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.). If you use Outlook or some other PC email client you can configure it to view images. We can send you a tutorial on Outlook's configuration that might help with those settings.

Yahoo and Hotmail are Webmail programs which let you unblock the image display for our tutorials. Of several open source webmail clients accessible via cpanel, RoundCube and SquirrelMail allow unblocking of the tutorial images inserted via HTTP just fine.

Webmail Programs which Do Not Display our Images

Presumably because our tutorials insert images via HTML from our local webserver, certain Web based email programs will not display the images. Two that we know of, Gmail & Outlook Web Access, will not display the images attached via HTTP even though those webmail programs display the images-enclosing webpage properly, CSS and all. Go figure.

Fortunately, our tutorials give all the steps written in text. The accompanying images are merely screen grabs to aid visual recognition. We are not prepared to offer alternative formats on a routine basis, but we can create and enclose a PDF for you of the tutorial in this instance.
